We used to have a little blog about our renovations when we first moved into our house but it fell to the side as life took over, and the enjoyment of living in the house was more of a priority. Since then, we started a second round of renovations, and the next bit of posting will be to showcase photos of whats going on. The other reason why we're doing this blog is because people have asked to see pictures, and previously, the only way was to update those via facebook (but not everyone has facebook) so this is the alternative. We're a bit late on the postings, but I'll (Lindsay) catch you up on the progress over the next few posts.
So to catch you up - here is how it all began...
The renovations on the basement officially started on March 4th, 2009. (Based on the date stamp from my photos)
Aubrey had to break up the concrete so that we could get to the plumbing, so that it could be replaced.
In the backyard we had small bins delivered (I think there were 4 that came and went over the course of the demo) to remove the concrete and dirt. It's neat looking back as snow was still on the ground. (And as I type, it's gorgeous + sunny out)
Here is a picture of our old stairs...
The plumbing beneath the floor was all replaced, and once that was done, the new floor went in, which was amazing, as for the first time, we were going to have an actual FLAT floor. Previously it was a mountain terrain, which made putting down flooring impossible. :)
And the stair building continues...
There are more pictures but I'm going to add to this posting late so it's all up to date. :)
